First of a series of images from Crowland Abbey in Lincolnshire. This is a special place for our family in that a branch of my mother's family lived here. My mother was christened here and also later a bridesmaid for her aunt. Although a colossal, decaying structure in the heart of the Fens, it has the most incredbile feeling of warmth and comfort - especially when catching the sun from the highest windows inside the church
